What a terrible book. I am not one to throw rocks regarding grammar. But this book, has so many grammar errors and improper use of words that it is hard read and understand. The content is poor. It as though someone just copied and pasted a FAQ section. Honestly, you would be better off just listening to your neighbor than this book. There is absolutely no useful information in this book regarding trading penny stocks. Do not waste your money on this book. You would be better off searching the internet.

This is a very concise book on the American Combat Goju Ryu system. For any prospective student (to any martial arts system), this book will give him/her a very concise insight in what to look for or expect when searching for the right category of MA. This book also takes a neutral approach when speaking of other martial arts besides Goju Ryu.

Definitely worth buying and investing the time.

I purchased this book because it claims to be a useful guide for beginners

I am new to the unreal engine 4, but not new to using programming and game development books to help further my knowledge and skills. I purchased this book because it claims to be a useful guide for beginners. It does not provide any step by step tutorials or provide any cohesion between what is being shown as an example and what is expected by the learner. The pictures in the book are not color and they are near impossible to see considering the engine interface is black.. The publishing company offers the pictures in color through a website address, however, when going to the address the link was dead and after a thorough search I got frustrated and gave up on looking for the pictures.

The author provides some helpful links to other web sites for further reading, however, for the cost of the book I would expect the author to provide the help himself. If you are looking for a true guide into this development engine then this book will not meet your satisfaction.

If you want a really broad view of the engine, then this book may provide enough information to suite your needs, however it was simply not for me and I have gone on to ordering other books and reading tutorials online for better information.

Good book for novice and trained game developer willing to reach professional skills

You are a novice game developer but don't know how to reach out professional skills? Don't worry, this is your lucky day if you are about to buy this book. Across the 11 chapters of the book, the author guides the reader in depth on all features and techniques for going to novice to pro into game development using Unreal Editor 4. The book covers from basic aspects as UE4 GUI, Material Editor or importing 3ds max assets, to advanced matters like Particles, HUD interfaces or developing your own C++ code.

I don't recommend this book only either if you don't have any knowledge at all on the gaming development matter or have previous good knowledge of the Unreal Editor work-flow and develop only C++ code.

In any other case scenario consider this your best book to became a good UE4 game developer.

Clear and useful book for work in Unreal Engine 4

This book is good but not that basic, it will introduce you to the most essential aspects of unreal engine 4 but will go a little deep, you will see more than you expect, but the author has made a great job doing it the right way. I liked that this book really covers most of the features that I already know that Unreal have, but showed me much more and how to use it, I think that my abilities of unreal before reading this book was about 80%, I had already read another books of unreal but this have more global vision of unreal and show not only the basic features, now I think that I really now less than before, but now I understand what I need to focus on my learning usage, this engine is more sophisticated than the average other engines that I've already used in the past, but anyone who loves to develop games would think in make a AAA game, unreal is the best tool for any development team size, it has a lot of features, big community, open-source and free, there are much more pro's than con's in my opinion but to start using this could be really difficult and care a lot of time to achieve quality result, this book was like a personal teacher, I read more than one time and some chapters I think that I need to read more times, but I have to say that is really good, like a personal teacher, each chapter show in detail unreal engine features, this enable me to start doing things more professionally I think, the book covers the basics of installation or compiling the source to packaging the project to distribute your work. I would recommend to my friends game developers this book helped me and I think that even if you already work on unreal this book will teach you the powers of unreal in detail.

The objective of this excellent book is disarmingly simple: "If you make it easier for people to see what you do and how you do it, their perception will be aligned with reality". BRAND YOU shows the reader how to achieve this by leading them through a series of simple but effective steps beginning with self-awareness and on to articulation and dissemination. First comes understanding your "talents" and "values" and then what you really want to do - your "purpose". These are combined in a USP: "What makes you different is your unique combination of skills and experiences", which forms the bedrock of your personal brand. Using an analogy from the world of luxury goods, John Purkiss and David Royston-Lee remind us that successful luxury brands must combine heritage and contemporary relevance to be effective. Having confirmed the true you - "if you are true to your talents and your values, you will be authentic" - the book continues by providing lots of practical advice about how to communicate your brand, be it on your CV, your Web site, or in conversation and meetings. A deeply cynical person such as myself usually steers clear of business titles, so I was pleasantly surprised with Brand You. This book is probably the first self-help book I've read thoroughly, done all the exercises, and learned something from in the whole process. As someone who put away everything from The Artist's Way to the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius due to lack of interest, this testimony speaks for itself.

As a former Marxist with a distrust of selling anything, I've never heard of portfolio careers or any of the business terms that crop up in the text. It seems almost sacrilegious, really, how the authors casually mention Che Guevara and Mao Zedong as examples of successful personal branding. Perhaps that's their point--even radicals have to push their ideas effectively to achieve their goals.

Branding goes beyond selling; it requires huge amounts of self-awareness. The book aims to help people rediscover themselves, and encourage (not necessarily exploit) a positive, authentic image that can attract like-minded individuals.

While trying to find an inner archetype sounds hooky, with some patience and self-deprecation, Brand You can be an invaluable career tool and a crash course in self-actualization.

A great practical Personal Brand development guide

A great practical guide to developing a strong personal brand. The book takes you through a methodical process to identify your talents, values and purpose, it helps you formulate your brand and tells you how to strengthen it over time. It is packed with insightful explanations, relevant examples and interesting exercizes, which makes it an easy read and overall an extremely valuable tool.
