I highly recommend this book to educators

I am a school based speech therapist serving special needs elementary aged children. Hearing these children that are considered "language-disordered" using powerful vocabulary has improved their confidence as speakers outside of the speech therapy room. We use the WOW! Words in a variety of games. The WOW! Words the author chose to focus on are key vocabulary words the children will use in the classroom and outside of the classroom. I highly recommend this book to educators, parents and language based therapists!

I cannot afford high end prices and do not care for hands-on care at all.[unlike a friend who goes every week].This book is perfect with easy to understand directions and diagrams, who cares if the pictures are just rough sketches.With a good pair of sheers and a comb to measure with I can finally do something with this curly head, and a little help to tidy a stray neckline from a friend. In typical Tozer fashion, he cuts to the heart of every issue with Spirit-guided precision! Tozer tells the truth boldly, plainly, and unerringly on target. This little book is a treasury of spiritual insights like:
"Faith never goes contrary to reason; faith simply ignores reason and rises above it."
or
"I have been memorizing the Scriptures ever since I was converted, but my faith does not rest on God's promises. My faith rests upon God's character."

or, talking about the importance of emptying oneself:
"The less there is in the kettle, the quicker it begins to boil."
I love Tozer's straight-forwardness and his plain talk about complex matters. He takes the abstract and makes it concrete.
Tozer writes, "It is not enough that I hold an inspired book in my hands. I must have an inspired heart."

The rationalists believe that divine truth is reducible to mere words and creeds. If you hold the right opinion on the stated propositions, then you have the truth. If you can recite the creed, you have the truth. The rationalists search the scriptures, thinking that in them they have eternal life, but they will not eat the flesh or drink the blood of Him whom the scriptures bear witness. Mr. Tozer likens them to the pharisees, and notes the pharisees were the Lord's worst enemies. Hard words, but there is much at stake. This rationalism will kill off the truth, Mr. Tozer says, as surely but more subtly as a liberalism that denies the divine source of scripture.

Who is on the other side of this battle? Who are the evangelical mystics? They are the ones who believe, as Mr. Tozer did, that saints of old, such as Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross, can instruct today's evangelicals on how to worship God in spirit and in truth. Whose hearts resonate with the words of Bernard of Clairvaux:

"We taste Thee, O Thou Living Bread
and long to feast upon Thee still
We drink of Thee the Fountain Head
and thirst our souls from Thee to fill"

Tozer never disappoints

Tozer never belabors or sugarcoats what needs to be said to the body of Christ and his perception and clarity reveal scriptures and inspire the heart. In "Faith Beyond Reason" he targets spiritual birth and the path of faith for those who choose Jesus Christ as their lord. This book is timeless and pertinent for all Christians.

About the Author
Simon Furman is a comic book writer, particularly associated with of a number of notable Transformers comics for Marvel UK, Marvel US, Dreamwave, and most recently, IDW. Sad this is the last installment. The 'Defenders of Berk' series written by Simon Furman and released by Titan Comics comes after the 'Riders of Berk' series. I have been a huge fan of the movie and TV installments, so a comic edition filling in the story between the two mediums was a wonderful addition to the franchise. The stories reach well beyond the recommended age range and the artwork is sensational.

About the Author

Chad Hoover loves to fish. He is an active duty Naval Officer stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Chad grew up hunting and fishing in rural Louisiana and Georgia. He developed a passion for saltwater flats fishing from a kayak while assigned to a Searcha dn Rescue Unit at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas. It was a natural transition from Louisiana's jon boats, pirogues and canoes.

Chad is an accomplished tournament angleer and conducts entertaining seminars and fishing clinics throught the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. As a member of the Wilderness Systems Kayak Fishing Pro Staff, he primarily fishes from his Ride 135, Tarpon 120 and Tarpon 160. I'm new to kayak fishing but not to fishing in general. I didn't want to buy several how-to books on kayak fishing and crossed my fingers when I ordered this one and I wasn't disappointed. Well, maybe with one aspect- the nuts & bolts of actually buying, outfitting and using a kayak was breezed through, I think more depth could have been added. There's enough to get started but you'll have to search out more to fill in the gaps. There's a chapter devoted how to do just that.
What will bring me back to this book again and again I'm sure is the broad depth of information on fishing for bass (Hey! That's the title of the book!). Seasonal patterning, how to fish different waters, lures, equipment- it's all there.
The author includes tips on techniques I'd never thought of. As an example, I like to drop-shot for bass and the author offers a variation on that technique that seems so obvious... you'll have to get the book to find out what it is.
The color photos are great and make the book fun to just flip through and look.
Newbie or veteran- this book will fill a need for your kayak fishing skills.

Great book to start with. Wish there were suggested less expensive rod/reel combos than what the author uses. There are web sites devoted to the sport for additional information and answers to your questions.

Tremendous resource

Awesome book; a tremendous source of information. I re-read this book routinely because it is so full of information. The most practical, useful book I've read on bass fishing from a kayak. A must read for anyone even considering fishing for bass from a yak. Since reading the book, I've also subscribed to the author's YouTube channel to learn even more.
